Latin Music @ Juss Jazz

Trio Bembe’s Yukon Quest

Trio Bembe takes home the World Music Award

We were suprised last night when the WCMA host called the World Music category first out of all the awards. Scott had two glasses of wine in his hands, and we had to run down to the stage! We were given the Western Canadian Music Award for World Recording of the Year! We’re very excited, honored, and thankful to our families, friends, and fans (the three seem to mix all together!). Trio Bembe’s early morning

We started the day off early with a sound check at 9 am – which is quite a feat for musicians! We played at the Western Canadian Industry Awards, which recognizes excellence in the music industry field. We were beaming with pride, because 8 of the 9 awards went to Winnipeggers! We helped celebrate by playing a few of our fast-paced Latin tunes following the awards. (more…)
